Home Automation Europe participates in a number of R&D projects.

Figaro

The current Internet is especially suitable for collecting information and supporting entertainment applications. The future Internet, however, is expected to enable more critical applications, such as remote care and energy management, and will lead to considerable advantages for both industry and society.

In this project we research, with companies like Philips Telefonica and TNO, the architecture of a home gateway that can strengthen this Future Internet.

Apollon

In a large consortium of partners we are researching how different European customers would interact with our Quby interface, and what technical and operational obstacles will be encountered when planning systems integration in foreign countries.

Geotherm

Technically it is feasible to let smartphones register travelling patterns, and predict when your house should be heated, instead of following a standard program. According to calculations this could save burning 600 million m3 gas in the Netherlands. In collaboration with Novay and Rendo we have built a pilot environment and tested the concept with 25 households. Currently research-result are being analysed to see if the solution could really obtain energy savings, and could be rolled out commercially.
